Helping others never goes out of style. The purpose of life is to be useful, honorable, compassionate, and to have hopefully made some kind of difference even in the smallest of ways. You'll never lose helping others.
Post traumatic stress disorder effects every veteran returning from combat. Russell Davies explains his story of how his outdoor lifestyle and journey though the military eventually lead to the creation of Professional Transformation Sports Development (PTSD,) a 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to helping veterans find their own personal escape though extreme outdoor sports. "We need to change the stigma surrounding veterans returning from war. We need to turn tragedy into triumph. I have a solution."

We were lucky to film some of this in Portland, Oregon and some from Russ' home town in Idaho. The weather, the crew and the landscape were way to gorgeous to pass on the amazing adventure. They even got me to kayak for the first time, in the river, and it was something to remember. Couldn't speak more higher of the River Roots Film Crew and of the owner of PTSD Veteran Athletes.
